Historical Brick Restoration in New Orleans Irish Channel Neighborhood
Century old brick restoration in New Orleans Irish Channel neighborhood. These beautiful vintage St. Joe bricks that built up the foundation of this wonderful city were unleveled, posed a great tripping hazard to pedestrians and had much wear on them due to the many years that they had rested there. We assisted in this restoration process by creating a stabilized base for them to rest upon, laying them in an elegant running-bond pattern, and filling their joints with a commercial grade polymeric sand to strengthen their stability. Along with a concrete edge restraint to further the structural integrity of the sidewalk. Attached are pictures showing the progression of the project prior, during, and after completion.
